Car problems

It is always funny (not) when something so small creates such a big problem.  I had to take my car in because it was making weird sounds and started to act funny.  Apparently there was a problem with the thermostat.

Here is the thermostat:

You will have to look closely at the picture below.  If you notice the bottom of the thermostat, close to my thumb, there is a small gap where you can see the desk.  It is very small.  Let's just say that the gap isn't suppose to be there.  The black ring around it is rubber and is suppose to keep the gap tight so no air can get in.  Well, it didn't do its job and enough air got in that the thermometer wouldn't work to put my car in overdrive.

Hopefully the new thermostat will work correctly.

Sigh...

Frugality

I generally try to be aware of random fees or ways in which businesses try to get money out of people.  Parking is one of them.

At my internship, I had a parking pass I would use but I always had to leave it at the office.  So, I'd park, run to the office, grab the pass, drive my car out with using the 2-hour free pass and go back in with the parking pass.  At the end of the day I'd reverse it.  By doing this, I avoided having to pay for parking.

That is, until my last day.  I left the office around 6 pm to go move my car.  Little did I know (well, I'm sure I knew at some point but spaced it) that at 6 pm you no longer get 2-hours for free.  Sucks that I got the ticket at 6:02 pm...

$5 worth of frustration.

Disneyland

Sometimes you see cool people at Disneyland.  Yesterday, Chang from "Community".  Tomorrow: I'm excited to see who it will end up being...

Last day of my internship

It is always sad when something great ends.  Having to decide to finish my internship was hard but necessary as the end of the semester draws near.  I was able to say goodbye to some great people in hopes of seeing and working with them again in the future.  We were even able to go to lunch together and had some great casual conversations.

But, I couldn't help but want one last thing to top off a great day.  And then Pauly Shore came in.  His comment to me: wow, that's a small desk you are sitting at.

I didn't know how to respond.  But it was worth saying on the last day.

Helping Out

Fo·ley

  [foh-lee]
adjective
of or pertaining to motion-picture sound effects produced manually: a Foley artist.

It is around that time, at the end of the semester, when post production is in full force.  One part of that process is the foley.  A friend needed some special foley done so Michael was kind enough to volunteer both of us.  It only took a few minutes but we were able to do what was needed.

Yes, they needed kissing sounds.
