Happy Anniversary to me

It is official. I have officially lived in New York for a year. In New York years, that's like, what, ten years?

Metal Detectors

8/31/2010

A friend had surgery today so I had asked if I could help him back home after the procedure. I had to meet him at hospital where there is some heavy security. Or, at least, I thought would be heavy security.

Upon entering the foyer I walked towards the metal detectors. No one was around except for six security guards huddled together talking a few feet from the security point. I didn't know if I should place my things on the belt or just walk through. The green handle symbol on the metal detector was welcoming enough so I just walked through thinking it had possibly been turned off. Nope, it was on. And working.

But, it didn't really matter. None of the security guards even moved. I felt very safe.

Facebook and Touch Phones

8/30/2010

I was looking at Facebook on my phone, getting caught up with some correspondence when I tried to scroll on the homepage. But, somehow my phone froze and didn't scroll. I must have lifted my finger and then placed it down again on a friend's status, without realizing it. I "liked" it without knowing it. Then I actually read the status and realized it was actually a really good status. It was a serendipitous like.

Complete exhaustion

8/29/2010

I know I'm tired when I have to take a nap. Thanks to dehydration and complete exhaustion, a nap got me through the day. Good thing 'cause I needed to stay awake to watch the Emmys. Yay Emmys.

The Beach

8/28/2010

If you wanted to know:

And, of course, I am number 1. Was there any doubt?

Naked Statues

8/27/2010

The naked statues are gone. Completely gone. They disappeared. It's weird.
