There is a first for everything

There is no laundromat close enough to my apartment for me to do it. So I call out for it. But, I decided to do it, just once, to say that I did my laundry in New York. Pictures were taken to celebrate. Including the ride in the taxi.
Is that a hula hoop I see in the background? That wasn't there when I visited. I would remember trying it out.
