I went to see Yo-Yo Ma at Central Park for free but didn't get into the venue as their were so many people.
That's okay, though, 'cause Mr. Wong was just as entertaining. See, Mr. Wong is a professor at either Columbia or Julliard. He was seated on the Subway when I got on and sat next to him. A white-American family with two girls in their twenties got on and the mom recognized Mr. Wong and started chatting with him. In Chinese of course. After a while the Mom introduced her daughter Chelsea to Mr. Wong, who then said he would help Chelsea find a job or internship. Everyone was elated.
After a stop or two they got off and it was just me and Mr. Wong. He turned to me, pulled out a pamphlet from his briefcase and gave it to me. It was for a Chinese dancing performance at Lincoln Center (that actually really looked cool).
So, you see, even though Yo-Yo Ma and I couldn't spend time together, I was able to spend time with Mr. Wong.
Definitely quality time also.
