Is this what my life has turned into?

2/23/2011

I realized that many of my blogs lately have revolved around Pandora.

I also realized how sad my life is if this is what my blogging has turned into.

Or, I can hope Pandora somehow comes across my blog and pays me for advertising their station.

Ya, I'll go with the second one.

Pandora $0.99

2/22/2011

I'm loving this 99 cent purchase. I'm not paranoid about running out of hours so I can skip songs and not feel guilty that I'm "wasting" time. This is amazing.

Bulletproof Chicken

Last dinner with Benjamin and Laura included KFC.

They really protect their chicken here. If you look closely you can see the bulletproof glass and security windows.

At Benjamin and Laura's

2/20/2011

They still have pictures of me up in their apartment.

Brittany is jealous.

Purpose of going out of town.

Laundry done.

Trip successful.

Brittany coined a new word

2/18/2011

She wanted to say her phone battery died.

What came out was "my phattery died."

I'll go with it.

My weekend begins

2/17/2011

Worked ten hours. Didn't really care though 'cause my weekend started.

Going out of town.

Again.

While in the Subway going to work.

2/16/2011

I felt as though I was in New Orleans again. Washboard and all.

My love/hate relationship with Pandora

I'm starting to get bored with my stations. But, I don't have a desire to create a new station. That means, though, that I skip songs. Which, in turns, makes my hours run out quickly.

So, I finally paid the 99 cents for the rest of the month.

It was a big step for me.

Back to Work

9/14/2011

My boss arrived to work shortly after I cam in. She looked at me weirdly when she did. She said, "I didn't think you were coming in today. I just got all messed up." I reminded her that I will not be in next Monday.

I paused for a second and then continued, "I don't have to be here if you don't want me to be."

She laughed.

I stayed.

As I left she noticed my coworker's sign-in icon was a dog. She liked it and asked my coworker if she chose it. My coworker said no, that she doesn't like dogs. My boss said, "if I can give you some advise: never tell people you don't like dogs."

Music of New Orleans

9/12/2011

I was also introduced to Zydeco music. The bands I saw were amazing. So much so that I forgot to record them. So, as introduction, here are a few links to some bands (although these don't give the bands I saw justice.)

To sleep or not to sleep

9/10/2011

Flying out tomorrow. It will be a busy weekend so I want to sleep on the plane. Do I go to bed early where I won't sleep on the plane or do I go to bed late to be able to sleep on the plane?

So many things to consider.

Hot flashes: Is this what menopause feels like?

Let me provide some context before I write this post. It is currently 28 degrees outside. When I walked to work this morning my face hurt because it was so cold.

So, why am I having hot flashes?

Oh, ya, because the heat in our office is completely off and yet it is incredibly warm. No joke, we have the air conditioner on with two windows open. And, it is still hot! It is like this every day with heat waves around 11 am and 3 pm. We all come to work in layers that we take off throughout the day. I have currently hit my modest-layer mode and therefore hope it doesn't get any hotter.

Google

Google's homepage was pretty awesome today. I wasted two minutes playing with the logo.

Lessons learned at work

2/7/2011

We got an email from a client today. She hadn't received her discount UGGs she bought a week ago online. She had a confirmation number, a phone number, and an email address of her contact who sold her the UGGs.

Too bad it was a complete scam. After doing some research online, come to find out many people have been duped by the same person.

SO...

Don't buy anything from csreason@95epay.com.

Superbowl Party

2/6/2011

Go Packers! We celebrated their win with Birthday cake. Well, the birthday cake wasn't for the Superbowl...

Happy Birthday to Charlye, Jenn, and Jason!

SNL

2/5/2011

Waited in line for SNL at 6 am. Dana Carvey. Need I say more? You get a number and then have to go back that night to see if they have any available seats.

The last number called was 45.

On my way to work, I saw this...

Pandora

2/3/2011

It is always funny to me when certain songs come on a Pandora Station. Take "What a Wonderful World" by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole following by Britney Spears' song "3". This is on my Lady Gage Station.

Britney Spears I can understand. "What a Wonderful World" I'm still trying to comprehend.

Maybe me "liking" it doesn't help...

Groundhog Day

2/2/2011

I remembered yesterday that it was Groundhog Day today. But today I completely spaced it.

Apparently my priorities in life have shifted.

Pandora

I'm so happy you are back. I missed you more than you know. I missed you more than I thought. I may be willing to pay 99 cents/month to have you around all the time.

Post Office

1/31/2011

Today was a tax deadline. A pretty big one at that. This meant I got to go to the post office to mail off some tax documents.

Since we moved offices I haven’t gone to the post office as much. I’m not sure why as the post office where we are now is actually closer than when we were at our old office. Either way, I got to go today.

And I was happily surprised when the entertainment at the post office didn’t fail me.

There was an error with the payment so I had to split the payment in two for the packages we were sending. Only problem was the transaction already went through so the lady helping me had to cancel that transaction and then redo it. Lorette tried hard to figure it out. But she didn’t know how to do that.

So she went and got Kiki.

Kiki looked firm. I was nervous she was going to yell at me or possibly at Lorette. She came over in a huff, listened as Lorette explained the problem, and just stood there for a few seconds looking at the machine. I thought Kiki was going to rip someone’s head off.

But, then the most delightful thing happened. She looked at Lorette and said, “This is easy to fix.” And she proceeded to fix it. Within seconds all was right in the world.

I just stood there as a curious observer, one that wasn’t in trouble for making life complicated for those fine post office workers.
